Salters Hire is led by decades of business and events/hire industry experience, employs nearly 20 great Tasmanian’s (a lot more than that for many months of year). Salters hire is led by a team which has over 200 years in events and event hire experience:

JARROD – Managing Director

Jarrod works with his incredible team statewide to ensure the customer ‘gets what they want’! Jarrod has owned several hugely successful start-ups across the globe and has extensive experience in business and corporate governance, large and small. Jarrod has been organising events, parties and conferences across Australia and Tasmania for over 25 years. Jarrod is a former and founding Chair of Maddie Reiwoldt’s Vision, the Chair of the Taste of Summer and is a board member and chair of several successful organisations.  Having grown up in Hobart and lived in Melbourne for well over a decade, Jarrod enjoys the Tassie lifestyle – time on the water, mountain biking on the awesome Tassie trails, good food and wine and spending time with his wife Madeleine and children Tommy & Rosie.

GEORGE – State Operations Leader, Structures

George is a highly motivated and respected member of the Hire and Rental Industry. George has worked at Salters Hire for more than 35 years, developing great stakeholder relationships across Tasmania, interstate with big and small organisations, and clients. George’s passion and flair to take on new challenges is unsurpassed ensuring you get what you want, when you want!

George undertook the implementation of opening our Launceston office in 2002 working closely with our client base and forged new relationships that still stand today. Georges vision for Salters Hire has continued to shine with Salters Hire taking out the Hire Industries Excellence Award Rental Company of the year 2014 and a finalist in 2023, and the business has continued to be a leader in the Hire and Rental Industry. George has travelled to Germany to view Hoecker factories and major hire companies across Australia ensuring we are maintaining world standard and attention to detail. George loves our island state and has lived in both the South and the North of the state and his passions are Soccer, spending time on the water with his wife Kylie children Dantae and Sarmara.

SHARRON – Northern Operations Leader

Sharron is a vibrant and committed part of the Salters Team.  Sharron’s work career has essentially been focused in the hospitality sector, having Managed several 100+ room hotels, both interstate and in Tasmania and coordinated numerous banquets and functions.  It was during this time that Sharron met and married her husband who was an Executive Chef and together they bought a successful little food business locally.  Having travelled extensively internationally and nationally, Sharron brings a wealth of knowledge and ideas to help prospective clients develop and create the perfect function.  She has been with Salters Hire now for nearly 20 years and when away from the office, enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, renovating and watching AFL football.

DAVID – Southern Operations Leader

Dave has worked for the largest hire company in the southern hemisphere (Harry the Hirer) and brings to Salters a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector. Dave has spend most of his adult life working around Australia in both large cities and very remote locations either inside the hire industry or in hospitality roles – he has been in this area for nearly 20 years. Not shy of getting his hand dirty, Dave plans all logistics and operational movements across the south of Tasmania, which on some days is like a complicated jigsaw puzzle! Dave prides himself of being organised and making sure clients always get what they require. Dave is an avid mountain bike rider, often seen on the world class trails of Derby, Meehan, Maydena and beyond.

NICOLE – Northern Operations Leader and State Ops Support

Nicole has over 20 years experience in the event hire industry in Tasmania and prides herself on her ‘can do’ attitude towards providing hire solutions to Salters’ client statewide. Nicole has assisted in the operations of every large event in Tasmania including Festivale, AGFEST, V8 Supercars, Baskerville Raceway, Taste of Tasmania/Summer, DarkMofo just to name a few. Nicole co-leads our northern operations team and assists the Salters statewide team to innovate, become more efficient and drive better outcomes for our clients. Nicole is one of the most respected event hire professionals not just in Tasmania, but Australia wide. When Nicole is not helping clients design awesome things, she is passionate supporter of the Be Hers charity, closing the gap with our indigenous community through her work on the management board of the Tas Aboriginal Child Care Association. Nicole is a dedicated and great mother to her son and loves her time with her family.

ANN-MAREE – Senior Wedding, Conference and Event Planner

Ann has over 20 years experience in the event hire industry in Tasmania, both as a on-site stylist, event organiser and in the recent years, helping some of Australia’s largest organisations hold conferences in Tasmania. Ann’s focus on every little detail and thinking like the client allows our clients to have confidence that no order is too large for Salters Hire, whether in a seaside location on Bruny Island, in a large conference venue like PW1 or indeed on the many outdoor and public spaces that are utilised in Tasmania for events. Ann knows events and knows what products Salters hire that best suit these events. Outside of work, her and Craig can be seen cheering on the Jack Jumpers, attending any number of the great events Tasmania hosts and spending time with her dogs.

JARED, ADAM, ANDY, JAKE, BRETT – Structure Leaders

Building engineered and certified marquees can only be done by experienced and well trained people and these amazing people have been safely doing this for nearly 90 years combined. These people are arguably the most experienced Hoecker marquee builders in Australia responsible for erecting the wide range of Salters Hire structures, from a small 3m wide marquee to the largest marquee in Tasmania, our 25m wide structure.  

In addition to these leaders, Salters Hire has a large team of committed, talented and long serving people spread statewide involved with cleaning, logistics, safety, accounts, administration and warehouse management.
