Salters Hire Tasmania is the leading provider of marquee and event equipment solutions for conferences, trade shows, festivals, weddings, and parties of all sizes Tasmania-wide. The company is located in Greater Hobart Area and serves clients in Hobart and Launceston.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Southern Operations Manager at Salters Hire Tasmania. The Southern Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, ensuring equipment readiness, coordinating deliveries and pickups, and maintaining customer relationships.

  • Work closely with the State Operations Manager and internal resources on larger orders, involving common crew and vehicles.
  • Work closely with State Operations Manager – Hocker on stock control.
  • Work with sales personnel to ensure clarity of orders and stock requirements.
  • Challenge the practices of the past by identifying innovation opportunities, considering efficiency, safety and resourcing.

  • Demonstrated experience in same or similar position in equivalent sized organisation.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to keep up-to-date with and implement legislative requirements for the business.

  • Manage all logistics and operations in Southern or Northern Tasmanian Region.
  • Manage the output and workflow of all marquee crew in the Operations team.
  • Ensure Marquee stock is clean and presentable prior to delivery/collection by clients.
  • Manage the loading/unloading of trucks/vehicles ensuring no damage to the load or vehicle.
  • Manage adherence to customer order/picking slips for all projects, ensuring they are packed and checked with no errors.
  • Work with crews to maintain clean and safe warehouse space, area swept and free of trip hazards. All hire goods off the floor and in their allocated position.
  • Ensure all team members understand their obligation in the ‘Salters’ dispatch process and maintain records to support this output.
  • Manage and lead all marquee fabric repairs and alterations.
  • Manage recruitment and staff management activity for your region as required.
